Apply deposits of cancelled res. to future stay

We do not take credit cards, therefore reservations are confirmed via deposit checks. If the reservation is canceled we cannot apply the depost to a new reservaiton

        The way I handle this is to make a retail folio with no charge on it and do a negative credit card payment on the cancelled reservation and a positive credit card payment on the retail folio. Of course notes in both the internal staff notes.

        You could create a Gift certificate with $0 balance. Refund to the Gift Certificate and then apply the Gift Certificate on the new account. No?
