There should be a way to indicate special events/holidays/conventions on the occupancy map.
I am currently keeping track of holidays, special events and local conventions by having a few extra unit definitions where I create "reservations" that show on the occupancy map. I use this as quick reminder when I pull up the occupancy map to quote rates and minimum stay requirements for those periods. It would be great to have a feature of this sort built-in to Rezovation GT.
This is a duplicate of the idea “Color coding date on the calendar to alert to special conditions, such as 3 night minimum” – http://feedback.rezovation.com/forums/21446-rezovation-gt/suggestions/273669-color-coding-date-on-the-calendar-to-alert-to-spec?ref=title

Yes, it needs to be visible with colors, and preferrably so you could hover the mouse over the area and be told what the holiday or event is (i.e. "bike race" or "Memorial Day")
I was handy on the desktop version. -

Glen - Yes, the plan would be to allow you to define special dates / events and then color code the date column on the occupancy map based on this. I revised the original idea to make it clearer. http://feedback.rezovation.com/forums/21446-rezovation-gt/suggestions/273669-color-coding-date-on-the-calendar-to-alert-to-spec?ref=title

Ben, I don't consider this a duplicate suggestion, unless you are planning to do more than just "color code" dates on the occupancy map to denote "special conditions". If you plan on incorporating a list of possible events (could be multiple or staggered for a specific period) in addition to the color coding, then I might concede that this issue will be handled under that request. Please advise. Thanks!

Byron -- it actually depends on what "rate type" you are using for your online bookings. By default, "Rack" is used, and all rooms will show up under Rack. However, if you create another Rate Type for your online bookings, you can restrict which rooms are available for this rate type, which in turn determines whether or not they show up under online bookings. If this isn't clear to you, leave me a comment here and I'll get you more detailed instructions.

I have a question about Glen's "work-around" - if I create a special unit to show holidays, events, etc, then won't that show up online for those of us using the online reservations module? Is there any way to have it show-up via the software but not online? Am I making any sense at all?
