Waiting list reminder
Add an active waiting list function which will pop up a reminder any time a room becomes empty on a particular date, so that if there is a customer wanting a room on a full date the reminder will pop up to remind us to review the details of the customer request to see if we can now meet their need.

At this point, the wait list is not room specific. We'd rather keep the functionality straightforward at this point, and adding support to request particular rooms for a wait list would definitely make it more complicated. There is a "notes" section where you can easily enter the room name that the guest requests, though, and this will show up in the upcoming wait list screen.
We'll have the improved wait list available come early March -- look forward to everyone's feedback once we launch it!

I agree with Cathy Ellis, we have a lot of unique rooms (really, of our 11 rooms we only have 2 that could be considered nearly exactly the same.) This can lead to return guests and guest-referred reservations asking for one or two very specific rooms, with no interest in the rest of our rooms, regardless of their availability. I think it would be very helpful to make this pop-up waitlist function room specific. Otherwise, what will happen to the pop-ups on dates that we have vacancies for, but not the vacancy that the guest was looking for? I think we might begin to ignore the pop-up reminder for the dates and miss it if the room they had actually requested becomes available.

Cathy - could you use the "guest notes" field to indicate which room they want? The improved wait list functionality will have a new pop-up window listing each wait listed reservation, along with arrival / departure dates requested, and notes.

We need to have wait lists for specific rooms of our property, due to their unique setup. We have been struggling trying to use the current wait list function for this.

This is not one of my personal top priorities, but if you're planning it, then please make it possible for customers to add themselves to waiting list via the Booking Engine...
